We have some fabulous new products to test drive at our August Third Thursday!  The Ceramic Shop was nice enough to send us a bottle of their new Mr. Marks’ Wax ON Wax Resist which contains a special hardener that quickly sets the wax. It was created to eliminate problematic dripping and tacky surfaces when applying wax. Cindy is looking forward to trying this out with some of her glaze of the month bisque:

Jeanette is excited about the tools sent to us by the kind folks at WiziWig Tools.  Each 18 Gauge stainless steel rib has 7 distinct uses and creates two consistent profiles.  Wizi Ribs ease the daunting task of making matching sets or creating appealing forms, while allowing the potter to add their own creative, unique touch.  Made in USA! All finish work done by hand!
We also received a few of their WiziWig Clay Cavity Sticks, which provide tools with small points and unique shapes. Wizi Sticks allow potters to get into the “nooks and crannies” and shape the clay where their fingers can’t reach.  They quickly allow possibilities that never existed before, all with a clay-gliding, rubber-coating that makes clay manipulation that much more enjoyable.

Come spend your afternoon with us in our studio space here at Bracker’s!  On the third thursday of each month, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, Cindy & Jeanette get their hands in clay trying out new products, making ware for our Glaze of the Month tests, and just having a good time.  Stop by and try out new tools and toys, ask a question, or just enjoy the company and camaraderie.  Everyone is welcome to come and create.  We have a slabroller, and extruder and several wheels available, and plenty of tools.  (You’re also welcome to bring in your own favorite tools.)  Work made from studio clay will be bisque-fired and used for glaze of the month tests.  (Please be sure to let us know if you want to be credited as the maker.)
