Low-Fire Glaze of the month – Moonlit Sky

Low-Fire Glaze of the month – Moonlit Sky

by Cindy Bracker | Aug 6, 2014 | Featured, Glaze of the Month, Glazes, Low Fire, Products, Specials, Sales

An Intense dark blue, sprinkled with flecks of white.  I can’t help but think of the scene in the Lion King when Mufasa is telling Simba that the stars in the sky are the great kings of the past looking down on us.  (for a refresher, see below, skip ahead to...

Green Float, Low-Fire Glaze of the Month

by Cindy Bracker | Jul 3, 2014 | Featured, Glaze of the Month, Glazes, Low Fire, Products, Specials, Sales

From the Artist’s Choice line, AMACO’s Green Float is a flowing green glaze that looks especially dramatic over a red clay body or when layered with another glaze.  One of my absolute favorite combinations from this batch of testing was the Green Float...

Smoke n Mirrors, June Low-Fire Glaze of the Month

by Cindy Bracker | Jun 4, 2014 | Featured, Glaze of the Month, Glazes, Low Fire, Products, Specials, Sales

Aptly named, this glaze has a mirror-like reflective quality hidden within it’s fuzzy grey surface.  Shades of caramel & periwinkle & deep blue feathered throughout create the smokey-haziness that gives this glaze depth and visual texture.  The...

I love the name of this glaze….just using it makes me feel like i should be on a beach sipping a drink with a little umbrella, soaking up the sun while I glaze my ware.  The results are every bit as beautiful as the imagery in my mind.  AMACO’s Tahitian...

Antique Brown – April Low-Fire Glaze of the Month

by Cindy Bracker | Apr 2, 2014 | Featured, Glaze of the Month, Glazes, Low Fire, Products, Specials, Sales

Antique Brown has long been a favorite of mine.  It has such a lovely and dramatic variegation of color from deep chocolate brown all the way to nearly white.  It has a lovely satin finish, reminiscent of polished stone.  The matt texture makes it an ideal glaze for...

March Low-Fire Glaze of the month: Spectrum Rainforest

by Cindy Bracker | Mar 5, 2014 | Featured, Glaze of the Month, Glazes, Low Fire, Products, Specials, Sales

Spectrum’s 958 Rainforest is a semi-gloss glaze that breaks up and gives one color in areas where it is thick and another color in areas where it is thinner.  The subtle variegation within this deep green glaze shifts from blue-greens that are so deep that they...
