We’re very excited to share our big news with you on Friday, but for our loyal blog followers, we decided to reveal part of the news early.  Some of our customers may remember Dave Root from the early days of Bracker’s.  Way back in 1989, Dave was fresh out of high school, a graduate of Shawnee Mission East who would begin attending KU as a ceramics major that fall.  He quickly became part of the family and was a frequent fixture at dinner and even on many weekends.  Dave’s employment grew from part time to full time and he eventually became our first Warehouse manager.  In 1993, we added another Root to our team when Dave’s younger brother, Nick, enrolled at KU and also came to work at Bracker’s.  Dave struck out on his own in 1995 and now has his own business, Atlas Archimedes, specializing in concrete, terrazzo, ceramic tile, countertops and more.  Nick stayed with us until he graduated from KU in 1997 and is now a firefighter in Kansas City, and occasionally works with Dave on various projects.  We are thrilled to tell you that Brackers is getting back to its “Roots” as Dave and possibly Nick as well, will be factoring into our announcement.  Stay tuned for more hints today and tomorrow leading up to the big reveal on Friday!  In the meantime, here’s a fun blast from the past:
