Join us at the Lawrence Arts Center for the first ever “Midsummer Night’s Raku”

Over hill, over dale,
Through bush, through briar,
Over park, over pale,
Through blood, through fire,
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moone’s sphere;

….Shakespearean quotes and/or costumes are optional, but we can promise much merriment at this twilight festival of frolic, fun & fire.

Now for the down and dirty details:
Who: Your fire masters will be Allen Chen, David Sturm & Cindy Bracker
What: The Lawrence Arts Center Studio Elves have made a variety of bisque pots (provided at no cost, however donations are accepted).  Glazes and brushes will also be provided.  First come, first served (no outside work please).
When: July 27th 6pm-9pm
Why:  If you need this question answered, then you OBVIOUSLY have never seen or done Raku.  Come down and find out why!!!
How Hot: Oh we’ll likely hit about 2000 Farenheit in about 45 minutes, then we’ll do it again and again and again!
Too hot?  The Lawrence Arts Center is also hosting an ice cream social, so you can buy a beautiful bowl and fill it with ice-cold ice-cream.  So come be social, and help us heat up the night (because July’s not hot enough already).

Because, let’s face it, what could be more fun than Final Fridays in Lawrence?
