Here in Kansas, it has been an interesting spring.  Warm and balmy in April, with a late freeze.  Then we even got snow in May!  In recent years, it seems we have gone directly from winter to summer, with temperatures in the spring months in the 90s, so it was fun to experience the warming season again.  Even now that it is summer, we are enjoying cooler temperatures.  I can’t remember the last time we had a July with highs in the mid 80s.  We should be hitting triple digits by now.  It makes me think we are heading for an Indian Summer.  Of course, this makes me think of the beautiful fall colors and the shades of the skies, especially at sunset.  Coincidentally, Spectrum makes a glaze reminiscent of these images.  This semi-translucent glaze is beautiful over texture or underglaze decoration.  It also performs nicely when layered with other glazes.
