Fritz Buster divides his time between educating the young artists at Shawnee Mission South, creating beautiful thrown crystalline-glazed pottery, and inventing reasons to take weekend motorcycle rides with his lovely wife.

This is his 3rd appearance as a Second Saturday Artist (also appearing previously in 2009) and I personally learned a LOT of very interesting tricks and tips and I heard many people that day echo the same sentiments. Fritz is one of my favorite educators – always willing to share his knowledge of ceramics (and especially *teaching* ceramics) with anyone. He’s also been known to share his fantastic banjo playing skills, so if you play a banjo, guitar, or some other type of instrument, feel free to bring it along for an impromptu jam session toward the end of the day.

The Second Saturday Artist Series is free and open to everyone, from experienced potters to beginners, adults and children alike. Even people who have never touched clay are welcome and thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to watch an artist at work. Stop by for a few minutes or a few hours, at any time between 10 am and 3 pm
