On February 21, Cindy & Jeanette will once again be opening up their studio night fun to the entire art community. Please consider this your invitation to join us! This month we will be working with Cone 5 Clay: Standard 112 Brown (affectionately know as “Chocolate Chip”), and Flint Hill’s Porcelain. Once again, Anne will be joining us in the studio! She will be throwing with the Porcelain, Jeanette will be using the Chocolate Chip, and Cindy will be handbuilding with both, (and will be trying out a technique learned last month from Dan Gegen – using fun foam to texture the surface of the clay!)
Everyone is welcome to come and create. We have a slabroller, and extruder and several wheels available, and plenty of tools. You’re also welcome to bring in your own favorite tools, or just join us to chat. We like to encourage the social side of clay too! Work made from studio clay will be bisque-fired and used for glaze of the month tests. (Please be sure to let us know if you want to be credited as the maker.)
Please note: Due to NCECA, we will not have a third thursday in March, so you won’t have another opportunity for this collaborative event until April!
