Stampin’ up a Storm…
We just love ALL the MKM tools, and we love seeing what new things Rick McKinney comes up with! For our February Friday Fun, we released a video of Rick himself demonstrating some of his stamps right here at Bracker’s (from our 30th anniversary celebration) If you missed it, you can catch it on our YouTube channel AND you can also catch an 20% discount on any of the MKM stamps! We have over 50 designs in stock, and are adding more with every order! If you don’t see the one you want, just let us know and we’ll get it!
March Second Saturday – Austin Miller
Austin will be keepin’ it weird here at Bracker’s on March 14th as he demonstrates some uncommon ways of working at the wheel. Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he became interested in ceramics at a young age and made his first real step into the world of Ceramics as a 2nd year undergrad. Now in his 4th year at KU, he maintains an eagerness to learn more about working with clay. Come join in the discourse & dialogue! Read more of Austin’s Story HERE
Glazes of the Month for March
Our low fire glaze of the month for March will be Spectrum’s 913 Old Copper. For our mid-fire artists we are featuring AMACO’s HF-9 Zinc Free Clear (Because who can’t always use a really good, reliable clear glaze???) Check the blog in March for detailed information and a gallery of images. ICYMI (in case you missed it) we made a major change here….We put the decisions in YOUR hands! That’s right, YOU tell US what glazes YOU want on sale! Read all the details here. (PLUS, you can get $$$$ if we chose your glaze!)
The unveiling of the improved Bracker’s Blog is only days away. This past month, Cindy has been working hard on the Resources Section. And of course, don’t forget about our Online Gallery. We love seeing what our customers are doing with the products they buy, and it’s just so great to be inspired by other people working in the medium, and also to have that opportunity to connect! Fill out our simple form to get listed! And if you have an idea for something you’d like to see on the redesigned site, just let Cindy know! We love to get feedback from our “Bracker Community”

As February closes out, we have a lot to be thankful for. We had very little snow and only a few extremely cold days in comparison to our friends North of us and especially in the Northeast United States. When I emailed Steve Branfman in the Boston area, he amusingly emailed back, “snow,,,what snow?” March brings the annual NCECA conference in Providence, RI, and I will be without both daughters this year for the last week of March. Hmmm, so maybe while the mice are away, the cat can play this time?
Just for fun
Last month, we asked what clay body you use most often. We’ve calculated the result from the entire month of responses and we’re sharing them right here.
Thanks Folks! Now, who’s up for some more fun? Check out this month’s question below:
