From the Artist:
I like to work on the edge between functional and decorative, through unique forms and lines. In my work, I enjoy the beauty of simplicity. I feel that some of my most successful pieces happen when I use only a few, simple complementary lines and forms to create a visually exciting piece that retains a simple, elegant feel.
I attended Graceland University and received a bachelor’s degree in studio art. After taking almost every art class offered, I had emphases in four areas of art — ceramics, sculpture, photography, and visual communications.
With a passion for education, I did not stop there. I trained my sights on education itself and focused on teaching endorsements for K–12 art education. Now, although I am no longer in a formal educational setting, I still enjoy learning about new techniques and materials. I am always looking for new things to try.
