CROCUS MARTIS
A recent issue of a ceramics magazine includes an
awesome glaze recipe that calls for Crocus Martis, which is an iron
oxide. Bracker's doesn't currently stock Crocus Martis, but here's
some information that will help you find it.
There are tons of informative messages on Crocus Martis
in the Clayart Archives, which you can peruse by clicking here.
I know of 3 suppliers that definitely carry it. Standard
Ceramics is a good source for all the unusual and weird chemicals
and I've sent lots of people to Standard for Crocus Martis and other
chems and haven't heard any negative feedback. Campbell's and Mile
Hi are also good sources. I'd check all three to see if they carry
the same brand, quality, and particle size.
